chura matar recipe | chura matar banane ki vidhi | banarasi chura matar with step by step photo and video recipe. poha recipes are very common across india and are generally used to make breakfast recipes. but then there are regional variations from it which are purpose-based recipes. one such easy and healthy poha recipe is chura matar recipe, aka, banarasi matar poha served as street food snack recipe.
well to be honest, i am not a huge fan of this banarasi chura matar recipe. and i prefer the maharashtrian version or the north karnataka avalakki oggarne recipe. i personally feel that later is more spicy and savoury compared to the north indian chura version. moreover, the kandha poha recipe is much easier and quicker to make it as compared to chura matar. basically, the addition of matar can seek more time to cook. having said that there is a huge fan following for the chura matar and i feel one has to develop the taste for it. perhaps you may need some time to develop it. but once you have i guess you may stick to this recipe compared to other poha recipes.
furthermore, i would like to highlight some of the easy and important tips and suggestions for chura matar recipe. firstly, i have used thick poha for this recipe and i would recommend the same to use it. basically, thick poha would retain its shape and would dissolve when soaked in milk. secondly, i have used frozen green peas and hence does not require the overnight soaking procedure. but if you are planning to use dry green peas, you have to soak it overnight before using it. also, you may cook them for a longer time as compared to frozen ones. finally, the dish has to be served immediately once it is removed from the stove. it tastes better when served warm.
