Biography

Joseph Meigs Mattingly was born on 30 Nov 1904 in Lebanon, Marion, Kentucky, United States, one of the 12 children of Thomas William Mattingly Sr (1861 - 1922) and Mary Eliza (O'Bryan) Mattingly (1868 - 1946). He was the second son they had named Joseph, although his middle name is different. [1] [2]

Joseph married Mabel Honora Stewart (1906 - 1988) on 10 Aug 1929 in Lucas, Ohio, with a very quiet wedding [3] [4] They had one child, a daughter: Joan Kathleen Mattingly (1930 - 2014).

Joseph Meigs died on 30 Jul 1957 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan aged 52. [5] [6] [7]
