If you’re looking for a fun, interesting, and relatively easy crochet blanket… this is it! The Larksfoot stitch creates a gorgeous fabric for a blanket, and we’re calling this one the Meadowlark Blanket. Let’s make one using this free pattern!
Meadowlark Blanket Crochet Pattern
The Meadowlark Blanket uses a fun, interesting stitch. This free Larksfoot crochet stitch blanket is great for beginner crocheters and seasoned crocheters alike because we’re working a variation of the double crochet. It’s made using a four-row repeat that is offset every two rows. Change colors every two rows to really make it pop!
Every other row we’ll incorporate what are called Spiked Double Crochet Stitches. These may sound fancy, but they’re basically just really tall double crochet stitches that are worked into the spaces of the row two down. In fact, the most advanced stitch you need to know in order to make this blanket is the double crochet stitch.
For this blanket I used Big Twist Value Yarn but any worsted weight acrylic yarn will work perfectly fine. Other great yarn options include Brava Worsted (just three Brava 500 skeins would be enough), or use Vanna’s Choice,Mary Maxim Value yarn, Everyday Mega Ball from Hobbii, or Red Heart, or your favorite worsted weight acrylic.
