Definitely read Tower Of Dawn!! It adds so much to the story and you get to meet new characters. Plus it made me like Chaol again. It really is super good! If you’re the type of person who can read multiple books at once, I’d say have books on the side that you read as you read TOD to make it more bearable, if you truly dislike Chaol that much haha!

girl let me tell you i hated chaol and tower of dawn is my favorite book in the series!! it’s literally so good and it ties so much together so it’s def important! worth giving a try w an open mind!

I can’t stand Chaol. I was so happy in EoS because he wasn’t in it and then I got hit with ToD and was filled with rage at having it be JUST him and have it not be a novella. I feel like there’ll be new characters but I’d be able to keep up after reading a spark notes on ToD.

I totally get that! I tandem read them because I knew for a fact that I wouldn’t want to deal with Chaol an entire book haha.

tower of dawn was actually one of my favorites, if not THE favorite book for me out of this series. yeah I also didn't care abt chaol when I went into it, but it's genuinely so good 🥺 bc the world building & the setting and all the new characters are so fresh and different and like genuinely it's worth it for nesrin's story also >>

i put off finishing the series for over a year bc i didnt want to read ToD, when i finally did i ended up loving it and it made me really like chaol again! its honestly one of my favorites now

Listen it took me months because the first chapter is just so so many WORDS without any dialogue. BUT I love how much everyone was on the same page until ToD about him.
I hope you love it, truly. I want that for you because it sounds more like enjoyable that way.

I'm gonna be in the vast minority here, but I skimmed tf out of ToD. I didn't like Chaol either. I didn't care about him or his love interest or any of the characters you learn about. And I don't think they matter *too* much in KoA. You get to meet some of them... briefly.

Still, there's some stuff in ToD that might be helpful to know about Mab etc. So it's worth a look--but I still think it's completely safe to skip, too. Just a matter of how much extra detail you want about the world. It's not life-altering, but those who enjoy the details will wail about you skipping, so....

Hmmmm okay thank you Aleesha! I’m definitely gonna keep this in mind bc even though I do enjoy world building, I wonder how much of it ends up mattering if they barely show up in the next book anyway 🤔 I think Ridhi brought up the point that maybe it might’ve been better as a novella, but I’m gonna wait to read it first before I commit to that point 😖

Meh, personally when I was reading it, I found it to be a bit lacking, especially considering cHaOl was the main character. You can definitely skip, the only problem being you won't know all of the characters. But you can always come back to it later!

idk sis 😭😭 i’m in the THICK Of EoS but my hatred for chaol just burns too bright…however !! im gonna cheat a lil bit and read the wiki page bc i don’t wanna miss out but i REFUSE to sit with this man’s thoughts for 600 pages
