What is a Boo Basket? (2024)

Maybe you've heard of Boo Baskets; maybe not. But you're definitely busy, mama, so we'll cut to the chase.

What is a Boo Basket? (1)
What's a Boo Basket?
Think of it like an Easter basket with a Halloween or fall theme—a collection of goodies to celebrate the delights of fall and our favorite time of year when kids are adorned in the most outrageously adorable costumes.

While we at Persnickety could take or leave the actual spooky parts of the holiday, we wholeheartedly love this time of year. Halloween is that magic mixture of getting to wear a fun costume and a socially-acceptable opportunity to demand candy from strangers. Yessssss, please.

So, where do Boo Baskets fit into the celebrations? You really get to decide, but we like to think they add a little extra magic—and some sugar-free fun—to an already spectacular time of year.

How Does One Make a Boo Basket?
Now here's where you can take one of two journeys, mama.

The first is the easy journey. And it's powered by Persnickety Curated Gifts #shamelessplug). Yes, that's right. We will do 100% of the work for you. Simply select your child's Boo Basket beginning September 26, and bam—your Boo Basket is done. Plus, you get all the glory. MVP? That's you.

The other journey is slightly more complicated and stressful, but it's also fun. You can curate your very own Boo Basket with whatever you so desire.

You do you, mama.

When Do You Give a Boo Basket?
Some mamas choose to hang on to their baskets until Halloween to make the day extra special. Other mamas choose to give Boo Baskets on October 1 so their littles can enjoy the fall treats all month long as the holiday excitement builds.

This year, Halloween is on a Tuesday, so we'll likely be dolling out the Boo Baskets to our littles on Friday after school so our littles have the whole weekend to celebrate the holiday (and we can sip our coffee in peace without answering 'when is it time for trick-or-treating?' again and again).

Once again—you do you, mama.

Who are Persnickety Boo Baskets for?
In 2023, weare offering 6 unique Boo Baskets for littles in these age ranges:

  • Big Boys (5-7 years old)

2023 Boo Baskets launch on Tuesday, September 26at 8pm ET!

Will there be one option or multiple tiers for Boo Baskets?
As if you need one more thing to stress about, mama! You simply select the age and gender of your child. One offering per age and gender, and one price for all baskets.

Will I see what's inside the Boo Baskets before I order?

Of course, mama! We have nothing to hide. All high-quality, exceptional gifts and goodies we want for our own kids and don’t mind lying around our homes. You’ll see all the contents before you give us your dollar bills.

If you want to know more about how we choose our gifts, I recommend reading this blog post. In that fantastic piece of literature, you'll find a fancy venn diagram of our gifting philosophy and the 3 principles we follow.

Is an actual basket included?
Ok, stay with us for a minute. Baskets are not included, which probably sounds absurd. But there’s a reason for that!

Go ahead and tell us how many Easter baskets, pumpkin pails, or jelly bags you have collecting dust in your home—we’ll wait. Too many? Yep, that’s what we thought. We don’t want to add another basket or container to your home collection.

If you do need a basket, might we recommend one of these darling options?

Can I buy a different age or gender than what's "recommended" for my child?
Sure you can. We’re not checking birth certificates. You know your child better than we do! We simply include age and gender as a helpful guide. But by all means, please purchase whichever option you think your child will squeal over the most.
